Cycling in Azerbaijan has developed steadily over the past two decades, supported by infrastructure investment and international event hosting. Road cycling remains the most visible format, particularly after the country hosted stages of major international races in Baku. Mountain biking and recreational cycling are also growing, especially in urban areas and along newly developed cycling paths. National federations oversee competitive participation, and Azerbaijani riders have competed in regional European and Asian events. While the sport is still developing at the grassroots level, government-backed initiatives and event hosting have increased public exposure. Cycling in Azerbaijan continues to expand through youth programs, club competition, and international engagement.
