Horse racing in Azerbaijan is closely connected to the country’s long equestrian tradition. Horses have historically played an important role in regional culture, and organized racing events continue to reflect that heritage. While large-scale international racing is less prominent than in some neighboring regions, domestic competitions and breeding programs remain active. Equestrian sports, including endurance riding and traditional horse games, also contribute to the broader racing culture. Horse racing in Azerbaijan combines cultural legacy with modern competitive formats.
